Abstract
⺠We studied the effect of lipid composition on adhesion and fusion of model myelin lipid membranes. ⺠The interaction forces between membranes can be well described by a generic model that include the hydrophobic interaction. ⺠Presence of calcium strongly affects both adhesion and hemifusion of the membranes studied.
