Abstract
⺠H. capsulatum expresses ergosterol-dependent and -independent membrane microdomains. ⺠Pma1p and laminin binding protein are present in ergosterol dependent microdomains. ⺠Ergosterol independent rafts present integrin-like protein and glycosphingolipids. ⺠mβCD reduces by 45% H. capsulatum infectivity of alveolar macrophages. ⺠Ergosterol restores raft organization and infectivity of mβCD treated H. capsulatum.
