Abstract
⺠A Zn-salophen complex has been incorporated into POPC extruded liposomes. ⺠The phospholipid-Zn-salophen coordination slowly leads to complex demetallation. ⺠The process follows first order kinetics and can be followed fluorimetrically. ⺠Demetallation rate constants have been measured in water and in buffer solution. ⺠The incorporation of the complex enhances the stability of liposomes.
