Abstract
⺠We studied the potential of monoolein as new helper lipid for non-viral transfection. ⺠We examined the physicochemical characteristics of DODAB:MO lipoplexes. ⺠Cytotoxicity and transfection efficiency were evaluated in 293 T cells. ⺠MO favors DNA condensation and affects the structural properties of lipoplexes. ⺠MO-based lipoplexes were validated as non-toxic and efficient lipofection vectors.
