Abstract
⺠Ceramide self-assembles in single wall liposomes to form large stable channels. ⺠The channels were visualized by negative staining and electron microscopy (EM). ⺠Channels are cylindrical in nature. ⺠Channel diameter is not strictly limited by the energetics of channel curvature. ⺠The channel size distribution observed by EM matches with electrophysiological data.
