Abstract
⺠The new surfactants, regioisomerically pure, cover CMCs from μM to mM. ⺠They solubilize membrane proteins independently of their lipidic environment. ⺠They keep the activity of solubilized proteins better than classical detergents. ⺠They are fully compatible with chromatographic protein purification methods. ⺠Large unilamellar (proteo)liposomes are produced by their enzymatic hydrolysis.
