Abstract
⺠We conduct a comprehensive comparison of lateral structure of clinical surfactants. ⺠Clinical surfactants are compared to synthetic and bovine natural surfactants. ⺠All surfactant films form multilayer structures regardless of the DPPC content. ⺠Cholesterol regulates phospholipid phase separation and surfactant film collapse.
