Abstract
► We cloned a hamster Cav1.3 variant with a long carboxyl tail from hamster brain RNA using RT-PCR. ► The long Cav1.3 was better expressed than the short variant in current amplitude and surface density. ► The long carboxyl tail plays in crucial roles for CDI and negative shifting of the gating properties.
