Abstract
⺠Liposomal DHA increases the fluidity of cell membranes. ⺠DHA enhances non-amyloidogenic processing of APP. ⺠Enhanced secretion of sAPPα is associated with autocrine protection against apoptosis induced by ER Ca2+ store depletion. ⺠sAPPα-dependent cytoprotection relies on activation of the anti-apoptotic PI3K/Akt pathway and inhibition of the stress-triggered JNK signaling pathway.
