Abstract
⺠Spliceosome performs nuclear pre-mRNA splicing so as to produce functional mRNA. ⺠DExD/H-box proteins open specific spliceosomal RNA duplexes and/or remove proteins. ⺠As a result, DExD/H-box proteins help to shape the spliceosomal catalytic center. ⺠Functions of DExD/H-box splicing factors and the outlook of the field are reviewed.
