Abstract
⺠Notch signaling is important during development and in adult stem cells. ⺠We review receptor and ligand structure and mechanisms of regulation. ⺠Control of target gene expression and cell fate output are discussed. ⺠Finally, we give an in-depth description of Notch's function in adult stem cells.
