Abstract
⺠Acridine derivatives affect amyloid aggregation of lysozyme. ⺠Extent of amyloid inhibition and depolymerization depends on acridine structure. ⺠Planarity and tautomerism of 9-aminoacridine core enhance anti-amyloid activity. ⺠IC50 and DC50 for most effective planar acridines at low micromolar concentrations. ⺠Identification of acridines with high antiamyloid activity and low cytotoxicity.
