Abstract
⺠Increase in plasma nitrotyrosine was observed during visceral leishmaniasis (VL). ⺠Peroxynitrite generation led to decline in bioavailability of NO. ⺠Enhanced NADPH oxidase activity and eNOS expression occurred in endothelial cells. ⺠Ceramide signaled endothelial dysfunction during VL.
