Abstract
⺠The Fox transcription factor Hcm1 translocates to the nucleus by nutrient limitation. ⺠Hcm1 transcriptional activity is activated when both glucose and nitrogen decrease. ⺠Snf1, the yeast AMPK, phosphorylates Hcm1 and increases its nuclear localization. ⺠Tor1/Sch9 pathway negatively regulates Hcm1, promoting its nuclear exclusion. ⺠Hcm1 allows cell adaptation to nutrient deficiency by enhancing oxidative metabolism.
