Abstract
⺠TatA is purified in functional form after heterologous expression. ⺠Soluble TatA can fully replace thylakoidal TatA in catalysing protein transport. ⺠TatA is required only at concentrations in the 100 nM range. ⺠TatA shows cooperativity in its catalytic activity.
