Abstract
⺠Hsp90 is a ubiquitous chaperone that plays central roles in many cellular pathways. ⺠We propose that a major role of Hsp90 is to promote protein complex assembly. ⺠The effect of the chaperone on the assembly of seven complexes is discussed. ⺠Hsp90 can stabilize a protein subunit to facilitate complex formation. ⺠Hsp90 can promote change in the subunit composition of a complex.
