Abstract
⺠Hypoxia induces protein synthesis inhibition in differentiated PC12 cells. ⺠Hypoxia-induced translation inhibition occurs primarily by eIF4F complex disruption. ⺠Translocation of eIF4E to the nucleus mediates eIF4F complex inhibition. ⺠Increased levels and dephosphorylation of 4E-BP1 mediate eIF4F complex disruption. ⺠Inhibition of mTOR by REDD1/HIF1 pathway produces 4E-BP1 dephosphorylation.
