Abstract
⺠Oxidized low density lipoprotein (ox-LDL) was proven to inhibit aldehyde dehydrogenase2 (ALDH2) activity in a time- and concentration-dependent manner. ⺠We report that poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) is involved in the inhibition of ALDH2 activity by reactive oxygen species. ⺠We found the role of PARP on ALDH2 dehydrogenase activity might be mediated by SIRT3 expression.
