Abstract
âºGrowth stimuli and nutrient availability must be matched to avoid apoptotic stress. âºOncogenic kinases can drive metabolism in growth factor deficiency. âºBcl-2 family proteins respond to nutrient limitation to promote apoptosis. âºP53 plays a major role to mediate nutrient stress and induce Puma expression. âºPuma and Noxa promote while Mcl-1 suppresses apoptosis in nutrient deficiency.
