Abstract
⺠Hydroxylamine activates glucose uptake in L929 fibroblast cells within minutes. ⺠Actions of hydroxylamine are virtually identical to actions of nitroxyl. ⺠Activation by hydroxylamine is blocked by thiol-reactive compounds. ⺠Azide, a peroxidase inhibitor, blocks activating effects of hydroxylamine.
