Abstract
⺠Two novel families of antimicrobial peptides were identified from torrent frog. ⺠Jindongenin-1a shows no sequence similarity with other antimicrobial peptides. ⺠The second family members are homologous to palustrin-2. ⺠These peptides possess broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity. ⺠The peptides also display cytotoxic activity on mammalian cancer cell lines.
