Abstract
⺠Bio-antioxidants could be promising agents for management of oxidative stress-related diseases. ⺠New compounds belonging to a rare class of natural lignans have been recently synthesized. ⺠Chromatographic, spectral, kinetic and theoretical methods were applied to explain their activity. ⺠Equimolar binary mixtures with alpha-tocopherol demonstrated higher antioxidant activities. ⺠Bond dissociation enthalpy is the most important theoretical descriptor.
