Abstract
► We developed a system of four skin cell lines with increasing tumorigenic potentials. ► Glycolysis (BEC and Gal/Glu indexes measured) increased gradually with tumorigenicity. ► OXPHOS expression and activity and mitochondrial ATP synthesis were unchanged. ► Higher ROS levels (threefold) were found as an early event during tumor progression. ► The cell model presented is a suitable tool to investigate metabolic reprogramming.
