Efficacy of azelaic acid on hepatic key enzymes of carbohydrate metabolism in high fat diet induced type 2 diabetic mice

► We investigate the efficacy of azelaic acid in C57BL/6J mice fed high-fat diet. ► We examine the changes in the body weight and plasma glucose and insulin levels. ► We examine the blood haemoglobin and glycosylated haemoglobin levels. ► We analyse the activities of enzymes involved in carbohydrate metabolism. ► 80 mg/kg BW of azelaic acid effectively regulates the carbohydrate metabolism.
