Abstract
⺠Two novel Neu3 sialidase genes, neu3a and neu3b, have been identified and characterized from Oryzias latipes. ⺠Both sialidase specifically recognize gangliosides as substrates. ⺠The properties of neu3a appear to have been highly conserved in molecular evolution.
