Abstract
⺠Dietary oxysterol cytotoxicity was investigated in colon cancer CaCo-2 cells. ⺠They were applied to the cells individually or in mixture as present in the diet. ⺠Oxysterols used individually are more toxic than in mixture in inducing apoptosis. ⺠α-epoxycholesterol and 7-hydroxycholesterols are the most effective. ⺠Specific oxysterols may induce selective cytotoxicity against colon cancer cells.
