Abstract
⺠We purified two serine proteases (BpirSP27/SP41) from Bothrops pirajai snake venom. ⺠Enzymes showed major differences in their sequences, masses and N-glycosylation levels. ⺠BpirSP27 acted on the Bβ chain and BpirSP41 on both Aα/Bβ chains of fibrinogen. ⺠BpirSP41 presented higher coagulant and fibrinolytic potential than BpirSP27. ⺠BpirSP27 induced aggregation of washed platelets to a greater extent than BpirSP41.
