Abstract
⺠Five sequences of secretory sPLA2 from soybean (Glycine max) are reported. ⺠The Ca2+ binding loop and the active site motif are similar to others plants enzymes. ⺠The enzymes belong to XIA and XIB subgroups according to PLA2 superfamily. ⺠Recombinant folded GmsPLA2-XIA-1 has activity against substrate in mixed micelles. ⺠Molecular dynamics indicate that Ca2+ plays an important role in PLA2 stability.
