Abstract
⺠Interplay of SR and MD elucidate hydration and packing in model lipid membranes. ⺠Nanosecond SR kinetics of Laurdan displays mobility of acyl groups. ⺠Headgroup packing of PC/TAP revealed by relaxation time and area per lipid reflects nonideal mixing. ⺠Oxidized lipids increase hydration and mobility at the lipid carbonyl level. ⺠Large soft polarizable anions associate with and destabilize lipid bilayers.
