Abstract
► Lipophosphoramidate amphiphiles constitute a family of synthetic vectors efficient for in vitro and in vivo gene delivery. ► Structural changes modify the physicochemical properties and transfection efficacies. ► The use of a trimethylarsonium group as cationic part usually decreases the toxicity and enhances transfection activities. ► Imidazole-based neutral lipophosphoramidates are used as helper lipid to enhance transfection activity.
