Abstract
► We encapsulate Trametes versicolor laccase into onion-type multilamellar liposomes. ► The effect of onions on stability and activity of free enzyme is studied. ► Laccase stability is greatly improved by onions at 25 °C and 37 °C, with NaCl or not. ► Laccase activity is increased by onions at 25 °C at pH = 4.5. ► Beneficial effects of onions are directly related to their structural integrity.
