Abstract
⺠Membrane function needs fluidity which is reached through changes in lipid composition. ⺠Alpha-tocopherol and PUFA-containing phospholipids co-localize in non-raft domains. ⺠Cholesterol and fatty acids adjust the transport and diffusion of oxygen in membranes. ⺠Non-raft matrix will be more sensible to lipid peroxidation than raft domains. ⺠Lipid peroxidation products in the non-raft matrix change the properties of membranes.
