Abstract
► Abundant anti-microbial peptides were identified from frog O. tiannanensis. ► Four AMPs were selected for the functional analysis. ► The forth one represents a new class of amphibian AMP and was named tiannanensin. ► The preformation of alpha-helix seems not necessary to anti-microbial activity. ► These AMPs may defend host innate system by means other than bactericidal.
