Abstract
⺠First inhibitor profiling of the metalloprotease ZapA from Proteus mirabilis. ⺠Details important information regarding S1Ⲡand S2Ⲡbinding preferences of ZapA. ⺠Inhibitors have been demonstrated to protect substrates from ZapA-mediated degradation. ⺠May ultimately contribute to elucidation of the role of ZapA during infection. ⺠May lead to development of an 'anti-virulence' approach to management of P. mirabilis infections.
