Abstract
An intra-molecular interaction of a double arginine motif in the Gab1 tail with the Gab1 PH domain prevents Gab1 membrane (PIP3) binding. Membrane binding requires MAPK-dependent phosphorylation of Ser552. Gab1 membrane localisation is highly dynamic and coordinates MAPK and PI3K signalling.112
