Abstract
⺠Mechanisms of enhancing cAMP-stimulated CREB-dependent transcription by lithium. ⺠Lithium does not compete with magnesium for binding at the CREB-bZip. ⺠Lithium strengthens the formation of a CBP-CREB-CRTC ternary complex. ⺠Lithium promotes oligomerization of CRTC, required for CRTC-CREB interaction.
