Abstract
⺠First report of a new GEF for Ras that happens to be a phospholipase. ⺠PLD2-GEF acting on Ras follows faster kinetics than other substrates (Rac2). ⺠Highly metastatic cancer cells have both high levels of Ras and PLD2-“GEF” activity. ⺠Single point mutations on GEF activity defined in this study for the first time. ⺠New GEF mutants slow down the rate of growth of breast cancer cells.
