Abstract
► First report of a new GEF for Ras that happens to be a phospholipase. ► PLD2-GEF acting on Ras follows faster kinetics than other substrates (Rac2). ► Highly metastatic cancer cells have both high levels of Ras and PLD2-“GEF” activity. ► Single point mutations on GEF activity defined in this study for the first time. ► New GEF mutants slow down the rate of growth of breast cancer cells.
