Abstract
► Senescent cells are cell cycle arrested and they secrete inflammatory mediators. ► This condition is called the senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP). ► NF-κB signaling is the major inducer of cellular senescence and appearance of SASP. ► Several stress-related signaling pathways can trigger SASP via NF-κB signaling. ► It seems that cellular senescence and SASP are involved in the aging process.
