Abstract
⺠Blocking of the AT1R reduces pathological neovascularization in the mouse retina. ⺠Ang II modulates VEGF-induced angiogenesis through opposing effects of AT1R and AT2R. ⺠The pro-angiogenic effect of the AT1R requires activation of G12/13 proteins. ⺠The angiostatic effect of the AT2R involves Gi proteins, Src and Ser/Thr-kinases. ⺠The regulation of endothelial cells by VEGF and Ang II converges on RhoA activity.
