Abstract
⺠In the present study, we identify PDCD6 as a key regulator of tumor growth and angiogenesis. ⺠The increase in endothelial PDCD6 is a direct result of VEGF stimulation and suppress phosphorylation of signaling regulators downstream from PI3K, including Akt, mTOR, and GSK-3β. ⺠These data provide an important conceptual advance in our understanding of the modulation of cellular angiogenesis in ovarian tumor and support the potential for targeting PI3K/Akt as a therapeutic approach.
