Abstract
⺠Molecular chaperones are housekeeping factors of the cytoskeleton network. ⺠Cytoprotective roles involve apoptosis inhibition, regulation of organelle homeostasis and protein scaffolding. ⺠Unlike heat-shock proteins, changes in cytoskeletal filaments in response to stress are tissue-dependent. ⺠Hsp90 provides biological properties to proteins with a preserved tertiary structure. ⺠Some TPR-domain immunophilins show antagonistic action on the cytoskeletal organization.
