Abstract
⺠AAA+ ATPases responsible for initiating replication engage client DNAs in a similar manner. ⺠ATP-dependent initiator assembly stretches and untwists DNA to drive replication origin opening in bacteria. ⺠Different initiation systems rely on distinct spiral and ring-shaped assemblies to overcome the challenges associated with opening origin DNA.
