Abstract
► PprA is a deinococaccae specific protein highly linked to the radioresistance. ► ΔpprA mutant is very sensitive to γ-rays though showing an efficient DNA DSBs repair. ► We show that PprA does not play a major role in a RecA-independent pathway. ► After irradiation, PprA localizes as a thread across the septum in dividing cells. ► PprA is required for DNA segregation between daughter cells after γ-irradiation.
