Abstract
⺠Substitution of the conserved lysine in the Walker variant of hDMC1 attenuated for ATP binding. ⺠Binding of calcium and ssDNA promotes ATP binding by hDMC1. ⺠The recombination activities of hDMC1 are dependent upon ATP binding.
