Abstract
⺠DNA double strand breaks (DSBs) were specifically generated using micro-irradiation. ⺠RECQL5 depleted cells accumulate persistent DSBs following γ-irradiation. ⺠We provide insights into the recruitment and retention dynamics of RECQL5 at DSBs. ⺠Both the helicase and KIX domains of RECQL5 confer its recruitment and stable retention at DSBs. ⺠Human RecQ helicases have different inherent capacities to be retained at DSB sites.
