Abstract
⺠53BP1-foci accumulate in tissue-specific stem cells during protracted low-dose radiation. ⺠Persistent 53BP1-foci do not co-localize with core components of NHEJ and thus, may reflect chromatin alterations rather than persistently unrepaired DSBs.
