Abstract
► Intermittent hypoxic exposures cause reduced body temperature and O2 consumption. ► PFK and PK activities in the brain during hypoxic exposures undergo hypometabolic changes. ► Complex I activity in the brain during hypoxic exposures is decreased. ► ATP levels and energy charge is preserved in hypoxic exposures. ► Brain structures are protected in hypoxic exposures.
