Abstract
► Genetic background influences distinct pattern of inflammatory angiogenesis. ► The acute inflammatory component of the fibrovascular tissue was more prominent in Balb/c implants. ► Angiogenesis (hemoglobin content and number of vessels) was higher in Swiss implants. ► The processes of inflammation, angiogenesis and fibrogenesis are trait associated with the genetic background.
