Abstract
► Cigarette smoke extract (CSE) exposure did not increase ROS production in AT I cells. ► CSE exposure increased H2O2 levels in endothelial cell (MVECL) cultures. ► When in co-culture with AT I cells, CSE-induced H2O2 production by MVECL was reduced. ► Total antioxidant capacity in co-cultures may explain reduction in H2O2 levels.
