Abstract
⺠Permeability increases more for normal albumin than for neutral albumin in sepsis. ⺠Plasma concentration of glycocalyx degradation products increases in sepsis. ⺠Charge effects on permeability in sepsis may be secondary to shedding of the negatively charged glycocalyx.
